What Does Rest Really Look Like? (Hint: It’s Not Just Sleep)
I used to think rest meant stopping.
Laying down. Turning off the noise.
And yes—sometimes it does.
But that version of rest didn’t always leave me feeling better. Because I could still be lying down… and anxious. Quiet… but spinning inside.
And if you’ve ever dealt with autoimmune flares, skin issues, or neuropathy, you know—rest has to go deeper than just the physical.
🌿 So what does rest look like?
Lately, it’s looked like:
Saying no to one more thing, even when I feel guilty
Stepping outside barefoot, just to feel something real
Slowing down my night routine—and using my magnesium lotion with intention
Writing in my Farm Healing Journal, even just one line
Talking to myself like I would a friend—not a failure
Following through on small tasks, like keeping my calendar or finishing something I said I would
Not procrastinating—because keeping my word to myself builds trust with myself
Giving myself grace when I mess up
Sometimes rest isn’t a nap. Sometimes rest is discipline that protects your peace. Sometimes rest is choosing to be your own friend. Rest is anything that tells your body and heart:
“You’re safe. You can be honest here. You can let go.”

Write it down. Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s hard. (And if you’ve printed your journal, flip to that page.)
