Let’s Begin: Why I Started, and Why I’m Still Here
I’ve been wrestling lately with whether or not to share my story.
Some days it feels too heavy.
Other days I wonder if I talk about it too much.
February 8th. August 27th.
They’re just dates to most people, but for me—they mark moments that changed everything.
Then yesterday, I received a call.
From someone I’ve never had a deep conversation and really haven’t spoke to except through a fun family kolache making session.
And the first thing he asked was:
“Why did you start?”
Not what do you sell…
Not how’s business going…
Just—why?
It caught me off guard.
But in the same breath, I knew.
I shared a glimpse of my story—messy, honest, and real.
And when I was done, he simply said:
“It’s important that you tell it.”
So here we are.
The Days That Marked My Life
In 2020, my oldest son survived two horrific accidents.
February 8 and August 27 will always be etched in my memory.
And for the first time this year, these days didn’t stop me in my tracks. That’s healing.
But it didn’t stop there.
My other son and daughter were later in another accident
My daughter rolled her truck
I lost my cousin to alcohol.
Then I lost my favorite uncle.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I was working at a small Christian nonprofit that told me I wasn’t healing fast enough.
The truth is—trauma compounds. And at some point, it paralyzed me.
The 9-Minute Plan That Helped Me Breathe Again
By God’s mercy, I found a counselor who didn’t give me a list of things to do.
He gave me three simple steps:
3 minutes reading Scripture out loud
3 minutes praying out loud
3 minutes of silence
It felt too simple—but it became my lifeline.
He taught me that pain wasn’t weakness. It was an invitation to sit with Jesus.
And slowly… the fog began to lift.
Goats, Soap, and the Start of Something New
That same season, Chad brought home a bag of goat feed for Mother’s Day.
I had no idea what that gift would spark. (The gift that keeps giving. ha-ha!)
As I began caring for the goats, something shifted in me.
Their rhythm grounded me.
Their care gave me purpose.
And their milk—well, it began healing my body and skin, just like God was beginning to heal my soul.
Out of that came Double CF Farm.
A micro-farm. A brand. A calling.
Not just to make natural products—but to live a Simple Farm Life full of grace, peace, and purpose.
Why Natural?
Because I’ve felt the way stress shows up on your skin.
I’ve lived the effects of trauma, inside and out.
And I believe healing isn’t just about what we put on our skin—but how we care for what’s going on underneath.
That’s why I use:
Herbal-infused oils made by hand
Raw goat milk from our own goats
No chemicals, no shortcuts—just real ingredients made with compassion
Why Me?
Because I don’t just sell soap.
I live this life.
I know what it’s like to hurt.
And I know what it’s like to heal—slowly, one step at a time.
Every salve, lotion, and bar of soap I make is a reminder:
You are not alone.
There is still hope.
And healing is still possible.
Why Now?
Because the world is heavy.
Because someone out there is barely hanging on.
And maybe, just maybe, they need a little reminder that they’re seen.
Maybe they need something as simple as a bar of soap that feels like it was made with care.
Maybe they need a friend, a story, a prayer.
Or maybe they just need to be reminded that it’s okay to start again.
🕊️ John 16:33
“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart—I have overcome the world.”
